Six Weeks Old
Now the fun begins in earnest! The kittens are exploring now, playing with one another, and beginning to see well enough to play a game of pounce. They love to cuddle. We started their first baths and they are like rag dolls, very accepting of the water and grooming. This foundation of bathing, together with regular grooming and nail trims, prepares them to accept it early so they accept it later in life. Best of all, they use the litter box. (For those of you used to puppies and dogs, the ease of housebreaking these little guys is gold.) They are relying less and less on Mama Violet and more and more on Kitten food for their sustenance.

The coloring of these kittens is exquisite, with the mystery of black and red in the tortoiseshell females, and in the black tabby male, his silver undercoat surprising like ocean spray as it shines through his coat.
